Design
We are going to be using Microsoft Word to design a popper juice container. Open up Microsoft word and have a look to see if you have a toolbar with the Draw tool on it. If you don't have the Draw tool showing, you will need to go to View > Toolbars and make sure Drawing is ticked.
It will be much easier to design our popper juice container if we use the Landscape layout. Go to File>Page Setup and choose Landscape.
- Measure up an opened out net of a popper juice container
- Draw this up, place measurements on the drawing (does not have to be to scale)
- Work out what your colour scheme will be
- What wording is required for your container, are there any legal requirements?
- Using the Draw tool, draw up the container
- Make sure you are always drawing inside the canvas.
- You can easily resize your shapes to the correct size by going to Format>Autoshape>Resize
- Group and Regroup when necessary
- Insert text boxes and required text
- Add colour and pictures
- Print out your container and fold it up to see if it works okay
- Make corrections
- Get a coloured copy printed out for assessment
To get each shape to the exact size either double click the shape, or, right click the shape - the Format AutoShape window pops up, choose size and adjust the height and width.
Draw two squares. Click on one square, then hold down Ctrl and click on the second square. Then right click and choose Grouping>Group. When you want to add another shape just click on the grouped objects, hold down Ctrl, then right click on the next shape and choose Regroup. If you have made a mistake you can Ungroup them in the same way.
